I thought the title my first entry was very apt actually. I woke up this morning to yet another news story regarding this shambolic government and yet another cut to a vulnerable group. Hence the title. At the moment (if it weren't for HD and all the shiny, new consumerables that we don't actually need) I feel like we are repeating the dark days of the early 80's and I'm just waiting for Gene Hunt to leap round the corner . I have to ask myself is this how far we have actually come?!
It's not even just the government-people seem more selfish than ever. I'm not saying it's everybody but the ole' Joe Public seems concerned with themselves and themselves only. More people are tailgating, readers of trashy tabloids are out to get "benefit cheats" (all 0.8 % of them, although the rags and government moguls will inflate that number to ensure their uneducated readership inflames an already flammable situation) and everybody is blaming someone else.
If you disagree or you can actually show me a positive shift in public attitudes, then please show me because I am at a loss at the moment. Hence the reason for this blog. I am slowly being poisoned by my own vitriol and seriously need to find a shard of hope.
So please send me your positive news story entitled "A rose amongst thorns", your location and a suitable photograph!
